ALICIA + AARON

Happy Monday!

May seems to be happily moseying along so may we introduce our friends Alicia and Aaron!

We met Alicia and Aaron at a friend’s Christmas party last year, we got to chatting and it turns out Stephen’s parents and Alicia’s parents go way, way back! If that wasn’t enough to remind us that it’s a small world after all but Aaron works at the same state department and office that Stephen once used to work at waaaaay back when photography was his second fiddle. As you all know photography has demanded Stephen’s full attention for quite some time but it’s funny how things in life are cycled and we are all connected.

Anyway back to the lovely Alicia and Aaron, we had the pleasure of shooting their lovely engagement in their backyard along the Sacramento river. It was such a beautiful afternoon, the sun was shining, the  air was crisp and we had a blast! Aaron and Alicia are both so down to earth and easy going that it made our job a piece of cake. They truly share a special relationship and for us to be able to capture how much they love and care for each other makes our job so much more rewarding. From every subtle whisper of reassurance and guidance, Aaron made Alicia feel at ease and we couldn’t help but admire what a true gentleman Aaron is and what a great husband he’s going to be!

Aaron and Alicia are getting married at Pebble Beach later this year, we can’t wait!! Enjoy!

LORI + RYAN + ZIGGY

It always amazes me when you realize how small this world is sometimes and how we are all connected through the people we meet and encounter. It’s so awesome to meet clients who are already connected via friends and networks and it only seems it will be sooner or later where God has planned your paths to cross. We strongly believe that God leads our path and it is His will for us when we meet each client and make a connection to those people. This is how we met Ryan and Lori.

Lori and Ryan were able to hear about us through the Cal Expo Bridal Show, Lori was away in Vietnam at the time but Ryan unfazed by her absence decided to battle the hoards of brides at the biggest bridal show in California with his soon-to-be-mother-in-law. We give Ryan huge props for coming out to see us that day because not every groom would take that massive feat on! We were able to meet the lovely Lori when she returned and the rest is pretty much history!

We had the pleasure of shooting Lori and Ryan’s engagement in our home turf of Sacramento, California. They even bought along their dog Ziggy, their cutie pie pom-poodle who stole the heart of everyone wherever we turned. We got to witness first hand the flocks of fans Ziggy draws in as we shot in and around town. Ziggy (named after the super hybrid computer from Quantum Leap) was such a trooper and stayed with his mommy and daddy throughout the entire shoot, it was easy to see that they are his entire world and his little face lights up when they’re around. It was wonderful to be able to include Ziggy in their engagement session because he is such a huge part of Ryan and Lori’s life together, we were excited to learn that Ziggy will also be their honorary ring bearer on their wedding day! We can’t wait!

We even had the opportunity to check out newly revamped spectacular Sacramento Crocker Art Museum. Huge thank you to the Crocket Art Museum for allowing us to shoot there. Without further a due meet Ryan and Lori and of course Ziggy! Enjoy!

CHELSIE PEREZ

Happy Monday! We wanted to brighten up your monday morning with this ball of sunshine - Meet Chelsie! We hung out with this bright young thing who happens to be the Head Designer and Marketing Director at Jackie’s Flowers and Visual Display Artist at the uber -cool Anthropologie. A girl of many creative talents and one to definitely keep your eye on.

We are so happy to be able to feature Jackie’s Flowers on our blog, this will be the first set showcasing their creative talents. As some of you may know about us, we love supporting local businesses that we believe in to empower our community. As the name ‘Jackie’s Flowers’ implies, Jackie does flowers… BUT (big but) she does SO MUCH MORE than that! They also specialize in Vintage Detailing, Rentals & Props and can create and make your wedding design and concept become a reality. Just stepping into their shop makes you feel like your in a gem of an antique store filled with treasures that want to be found and unveiled.

We couldn’t imagine having anyone else doing our wedding last year, Jackie’s Flowers did an incredible job completing our storybook woodland themed wedding (with British elements mixed in!) that our guests couldn’t stop talking about the wedding for weeks. Their attention to detail, creativity and floral arrangements were so personal, filled with so much of their passion and artistic flair that it’s evident they put their hearts and souls in to their business. We have nothing but admiration for them both as people and their phenomenal talent to bring together a visual concept. So we wanted to share the first of ‘Jackie’s Flowers’ concept series with all you guys. We were even able to convince Chelsie to join in all the photo fun! Enjoy and stay tuned for the next in their concept series!
