HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hello January! I can’t believe January is whizzing by, I guess it is true what they say… time flies when you’re having fun! =) I can’t think of better way for Stephen Anthony Photography to kick off 2012 than with a bang! – of a hammer, sawing for my life and some hardcore DIY wood-shopping! As 2011 drew to a close and we overindulged in treats over the holiday season, it was time to get to work. We quickly became familiar faces at our local Home Depot as we prepared for the incredible Cal Expo Bridal Show in Sacramento, CA. You know when you’re at Home depot too much if “everybody knows your name and everybody’s always glad you came…” *cue ‘Cheers’ theme song* =)
There’s just something really incredible about starting a new project and making something with your very own hands and it’s truly rewarding to see the finished product. The blood, sweat and tears (and sleep deprivation) was well worth it! lol
Our Stephen Anthony Photography Booth Cal Expo Bridal Showcase 2012, Sacramento, California
We are so proud that we had the opportunity to be at Cal Expo Bridal Show and we were overjoyed with the turnout. It really was so wonderful to be able to officially launch and showcase all our new beautiful wedding photography products. We are incredibly overwhelmed by the amount of interest and support we received from everybody and are truly honored to have been able to meet so many lovely bride and grooms-to-be. Thank you to everyone who came by to say Hi to us, we can’t appreciate you enough! We tried our best to document our crazy DIY journey from beginning to end so that you can all take a sneak peek too!

Let’s start off with our TOP SECRET sketchy blue prints doodled by the wifey! We’re pretty amazed how this piece of scrap paper became a reality for us!

Gathering supplies for the show. Measured, cut and ready for assembly.

Preston making sure we are off to a good start by helping me hold down our 2×2 framing. Precise measurement insures a clean fit.

NO PETS ALLOWED! During the precision cutting process!

The Miter Saw ROARS!!!

Mr. Cordless Drill became a good friend of mine.

My First Panel – almost complete!

Now repeat all steps x100! =)

Mr. Nail Gun competed for my attention.

Paint Rollers at the Ready!

We couldn’t of completed this project on time without the great help of our pal David. Thanks buddy!

Preston doing what he does best – looking damn cute!

Life & color are breathed into our lovely laser cut logo. The wifey seems to be immune to the TOXIC spray fumes!

Nothing like a good cuppa after a hard days work…

Creating + testing the dummy booth before our show case.

Preston supervises my accuracy + diy workmanship.

The shining moment comes for wifey to mount the logo – SUPER STAR!

No short cuts here! All precise aligning + spacing all thanks to my trusted little in-house designer.

Packing up for the road! Oh Yahhhh don’t cha know!

JAM PACKED + READY TO GO! OFF TO THE SHOW!! =)

Blue Curtains – No, thank you. lol

Check out the handy trolley I even made!

Setup is actually super fast.

Sou-Wah & David did such a marvelous job making this awesome grid of photos to fit well into the 7ft frame we handmade. David models it well.

What a hot mess! =)
